The main scientific direction

- research of thermodynamic and thermophysical properties of solid combustible minerals and carbon materials;

- development of carbon - carbon composites, sorbents based on the mineral part of shale and coal for purification of wastewater and industrial gases;

- synthesis and study of nanostructured catalysts based on ferrites, manganites, chromites;

- development and activation of nanoscale catalysts for the processing of hydrocarbon gases;

- development of gasification technology for coal, shale, biomass, waste;

- development of technology for processing greenhouse gases with the production of carbon nanotubes;

- research of electrophysical for processing coal waste;

- study of plasma-catalytic processes for the processing of hydrocarbon gases;

- development of new types of gas generators for the processing of carbon-containing waste: bird droppings, sewage sludge, and coal waste.

For the first time in the country, an experimental industrial coal processing complex “Kazakhstan” was created under its leadership. The complex operates according to the scheme: coal: gasification - gas purification - compression - synthesis of liquid hydrocarbons. The mini-plant can process not only coal, but also other carbon-containing products. Author of many fundamental and applied programs and projects.

Author of more than 350 scientific articles and 9 monographs, of which more than 50 articles in the international database Tomson-Royters. Hirsch Index 5.

A large and recognized scientist in the field of thermodynamics of inorganic and organic substances. The author of more than 800 scientific papers (of which about 200 scientific articles in leading scientific journals of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and the Russian Academy of Sciences, translated in the USA and another 200 articles in the international database of Tomson –Royters,), including 15 books and monographs, 20 USSR author's certificates , patents and preliminary patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Three times the holder of a diploma of 1 degree in the nomination "The most published Kazakhstani authors abroad" of the corporation "Thomson Reuters" (UK). Hirsch Index 10.

Research interests: thermodynamic and thermophysical properties of oil, coal, shale, as well as manganites and arsenite, ferrite of alkali and alkaline - earth metals.
